Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign for president is proof of her bravery, determination, strength and steadfastness. She is enduring savage misogyny of unparallel proportions.

She is a strong, uncompromising, knowledgeable, articulate, woman and for that men are screaming for her to quit. But it is precisely because she is a strong, uncompromising, knowledgeable, articulate woman that she should never, ever quit. And especially not because she's a woman! What fool began that ancient rumor? We are in the 21st century now; women can do whatever they darn well want.

Robin Morgan has really summed it up. Thanks for fcusssing us
on this very deep sexism that still exists in our society and how
it is expressed in these jokes and diabtribed about Hillary.
An African American man today even told me that Hillary is no
good because she let Bill "get %*&**" in the oval office.

Incidentally, I have just resigned from Move On. They made a political
endorsement of Obama without any grounds given that he is
the better choice except that is how their members voted in a 2
day vorting span they gave their members There was no way I was able
to give them the kind of feedback they reported from other
people. Maybe some of you will consider my response as one effort
to stop this clueless bandwagon.

I don't agree with the final conclusion that one should vote for a woman because one is a woman, but I think this piece expresses my outrage at the double-standard for race/gender being perpetrated and countenanced.
