I too miss Harriet and think of her often. Going through some old photos this week, I found photos of Harriet at one of my promotion celebration, at my retirement party and at my daughter’s wedding.

When I saw the “FORMER” VP, Dick Chaney, in the wheel Chair today, I was reminded of one of our Annual NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet where we were presenting an Award to Harriett and the provisions that I had to demand be made to accomodate Harriett’s access to the head table.

Toast it is!

Friends of Harriet: All I could think of when I was reading the attached article was that I wish Harriet were here to comment on this one. Perhaps Cheney is just checking to make sure that Obama’s Inaugural Commitee is meeting ADA specs?

Let’s all raise a toast to Harriet today. She would be so happy to see the changes. As Harriet would say… Solidarity!
