With 10 weeks to go before the November elections, the SEC has received more than 160 thousand applications for absentee ballots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The SEC also reported:<\/strong><br \/>     \u2022   All counties will be open on Sept. 28 for in-person absentee voting. <br \/>     \u2022   Over a third of the counties will open extension offices for in-person absentee voting and by-mail ballot return. <br \/>     \u2022   Drop boxes will be available at many county voter registration offices and extension offices. A list will be released by Sept. 28. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reminders about the mail:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First-class mail is delivered 2-5 days after it is received by the US Postal Service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voters should submit their ballot request as soon as possible, but at least 15 days before Election Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voters should mail their completed ballots as soon as possible, but no later than a week before Election Day. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Voters in South Carolina already have topped the record of 140 thousand by-mail ballots cast in the last general election, the State Election Commission said today.
